Sweet Tree Hill Farm is located in Cumberland, Virginia, about an hour west of Richmond. The farm, run by Kevin and Kathy Oliver, is still expanding and currently delivers produce to the Farmville Farmers Market. In addition, Kathy also owns a yarn dyeing and pattern designing company. One of the more popular items Kathy sells at the Market are lettuce mixes with herbs and flowers. Below is an image of some of the lettuce:

The farm also grows tomatoes, squashes, peppers, herbs and beans, shown below:

Kathy said that currently they do not use any non-organic growing methods, but were not opposed to using chemical fertilizer on some of the plants if the plants started to show signs of poor nutrient intake.
The Oliver’s do try to be as efficient and sustainable as possible by using soaker hoses for more efficient and direct watering and reuse anything possible.

In addition to plants, Sweet Tree Hill Farm also raises cashmere goats and chickens:goat-web
The Oliver’s also make herbal teas, healing salves, painted pots with herbs and other crafts to bring to Farmville.
